I’ve been coming to this New Smyrna staple for over 30 years. Their classic #10 of 2 eggs, 2 meat, and 2 pancakes has never disappointed me once. Pancakes so big, fluffy, and satisfying. If you want a traditional breakfast without the extra flash don’t miss going to beacon.

This oceanside joint is always good. The wait staff are charming, attentive and simply nice people. As far as the food goes, breakfast and lunch options are plentiful and do not disappoint. The Greek dressing on the Jim Kelly salad is the absolute best! Don’t hesitate to try it. Other notable items are the pancakes, beacon burger, egg sandwich, and fried pickles with ranch. If you sit outside, you’ll enjoy the breeze and have ample opportunity to people watch since the restaurant faces the main drag of Flagler Ave. A must eat at place for breakfast and lunch if you live in or visit New Smyrna Beach!

The Beacon was recommended to my husband and myself by our fishing charter captain. We explained that we couldn’t take our catches home with us due to us having to fly back the next day, but still wanted to eat it. This restaurant offers a “hook & cook” meal that comes with two sides. They closed at 3pm, and we arrived after 2pm unsure if they’d be willing to take us. They welcomed us with open arms and a kindness like no other. They took our king fish steaks and deboned them and filleted them. They were then brought back out to us for us to approve how they prepared the meat. The staff made us feel like we were cherished friends of theirs. The way they prepared the fish was absolutely melt-in-your-mouth delicious, and the sides were amazing too. We had freshly sliced tomatoes, crinkle cut fries, green beans, and the best coleslaw we’ve ever had. Thank you for making us feel so special. We will be back next trip!

I enjoyed this restaurant the food was very good. They had great views of the strip. All the workers were very friendly. We were greeted by multiple people when we walked in. I would recommend this place for breakfast. The restroom was clean, along with the restaurant eating area. They have an outdoor patio to sit at, but it was too cold for us on the day we visited. The biscuits and gravy & bacon were delicious. I tried my friends' blueberry pancake and eggs, and they were yummy too. I would go back if I were to visit this area again. It's definitely worth the visit and wait if there is one. We didn't have to wait. They weren't busy.

The Beacon has been there for 50 years. An old, reliable staple in New Smyrna Beach on beautiful Flagler Avenue. Their omelets are the best and packed full. Come hungry for one of the best breakfasts in the area. Highly recommend!

I’ve been here twice. Both times I was happy and full. I went here today and got the my strip (which was huge) with scrambled eggs w/ cheese, home fries and an English muffin. It came out super fast and cooked perfectly. Paired it with a sweet tea. all for 25. I got the same waitress as last time she’s super tall I don’t remember her name. She’s an absolute doll. I can’t wait to come back and try other items on the menu.

If you’re looking for a classic breakfast diner experience, this is the spot. Friendly service. Sometimes it gets packed, but that’s because it’s where everyone knows to go. Walking distance to the beach and surrounded by Flagler Ave shops, it’s the perfect place to pop in for coffee and breakfast after a sunrise walk on the beach.

I came to the Beacon on St. Patrick’s day driving a Limo Bus. The streets were packed and I dropped my passengers off in front of the restaurant. I was immediately greeted by a waitress from the restaurant who came out and invited me to park in front of the restaurant for the evening for free and welcomed me inside for a plate of corned beef and potatoes. I cannot remember the last time I was treated with such warmth and hospitality. Everybody in the restaurant was kind and welcoming and asked how I was doing. It was an incredible first experience in New Smyrna. I hope to come back again soon. Also thank you to the owner (John?) for helping me get the bus parked safely and out of the way. What a fantastic little spot. Thank you all again!
